Courage and Censorship: Journalists and Press Freedom in South Asia
This report describes the story of press freedom, democratic rights and journalists’ safety in South Asia. Included are accounts of the deaths of journalists and records of the treatment of others. According to this report, nineteen media workers were killed in attacks between May 2004 and April 2005 for their efforts to ensure that the voice of the free press is heard in South Asia. The report also makes reference to what it describes as "declining" media freedoms.
