International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) Fellowships
The International Center for Journalists has a number of fellowships available for journalists in the United States (US) and around the world. Each has its own deadline and partner organisation.
These include:
- Scripps Howard Semester in Washington Internship Program
Deadline: March 1 2010
Funded by the Scripps Howard Foundation, this Washington internship programme brings three international students per year to Washington, DC, US, to work at the Scripps Howard News Service for 10 to 14 weeks each. - The Knight International Journalism Fellowships
Deadline: Rolling
The Knight International Journalism Fellowships are intended to make tangible changes that improve the quality and free flow of news in the public interest around the world. Funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, international media professionals work in countries where there are opportunities to promote principles of reliable journalism that hold officials accountable. - US - Austria Journalism Exchange
Deadline: March 12 2010
Up to 6 outstanding media professionals from the US and Austria are awarded an opportunity to report from and travel in each other's countries. - The Arthur F. Burns Fellowships Program
Deadline: March 1 2010
This programme is an exchange between German and US journalists. Fellows work for two months at news organisations in one another's countries. - The World Affairs Journalism Fellowships
Deadline: Closed for 2010
Funded by the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation, this programme improves coverage of global issues in US media by sending journalists abroad to report on international stories of local importance.
